Reflections

I'm just taking my time and reflecting on the last couple of months. Our family has been thoroughly chewed up and spit back out. There are many gory details but I'm tired and my pain meds make my mind furry and unresponsive. Yeah, spelling is a huge hurdle today. I'll be back later when I'm normal. Assuming that "normal" ever happens for me again.

Let me know when you figure out what "normal" looks like. In my life I don't think I know what that is.

Hang in there. Life has a a little like a rollercoaster. Lots of ups and downs and occassionally a quick stop at the end for a brief rest before the fun begins again.

Oh, Brandi, I'm so sorry things are so rough and discouraging right now for you and your family.

A few thoughts came to mind when I read your post. They are thoughts that linger when I am struggling and I hoped that maybe one, if not all would help you:

#1- "No matter how serious the trial, how deep the distress, how great the affliction, God will never desert us. It is not His character. He is an unchangeable being; the same yesterday, the same today, and He will be the same throughout the eternal ages to come... We may pass through the fiery furnace; we may pass through deep waters; but we shall not be consumed nor overwhelmed. We shall emerge from all these trials and difficulties the better and purer for them, if we only trust in our God and keep His commandments." -Pres George Q. Cannon

#2- "Be Still and Know that I am God" (Psalms 46:10); "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:7); "... peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;
And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes." (D/C 121:7-8)

#3- Life is like an old time rail journey- delays, sidetracks, smoke, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."- Gordon B. Hinckley

Call if you need to talk. My number is still the same.
